We offer full color digital printing directly on our high quality bamboo shirts. Our state-of-the-art DTG (Direct To Garment) Printer has many benefits over screen printing. DTG printing offers excellent image detail, superior washability and virtually unlimited colors. DTG printing is environmentally friendly. Screenprinting uses petrochemicals (such as Plastisol), and a lot of water, while DTG printing uses small quantities of ink that bonds with the fibers of the shirt leaving almost no ‘feel’ or ‘hand’.

There is no limit to the number of colors or the complexity of the design we can print. But at this point, we are not printing white ink. It is problematical and not as environmentally kind as the other inks, and it adds cost and complexity to the print job. Additionally, it leaves a heavy feeling on the shirt that we don’t want. We suggest light colored shirts for most designs; dark colored shirts can be used with black line art or text. The underlying color of the shirt will be a factor in the final image color. So the lighter the shirt, the better the color fidelity of the image.

Pricing

We can also print directly on your blank natural fiber shirts (cotton, bamboo, etc.) if they are of high quality (cheap shirts with short fibers are bad for our printing equipment, and we do not print on nylon or polyester).

Surcharges
Price includes light to moderate ink coverage on one side of shirt (front or back).
Heavy ink coverage will be $1-2 more per shirt.
$3 per additional full size print on other side. Additional surcharge for heavy ink coverage.
$2 for pocket print (up to 5” x 5”) on front if main print is on back of shirt.
$4 for pocket name print (different name on each shirt, same font and size) if main print is on back of shirt.
$4 per sleeve print.
$2 per XXL shirt. This includes sizing the graphic up slightly for the larger print area.

Discounts
A discount of 10% off the total is available if we can put our URL (www.shirtsofbamboo.com) somewhere small on the shirt.
Orders over $250 receive free domestic ground shipping.

Production
Average production time for most orders is 5-7 business days. Larger orders may require more time but we will let you know up front. The time starts when we receive your approval of a proof and payment/deposit. Orders of 5 shirts or less require payment in full; larger orders require a deposit of 35%. Quite often orders will be finished in under 5 days, but this is not a given. If you need your order guaranteed to be shipped within 3 business days, we charge a 20% rush fee.

Due to the nature of the technology, we are unable to guarantee color matching. This is a CMYK printing process, and the underlying color of the shirt influences the art. We can approximate PMS or Pantone colors.

Art
If you provide us with electronic artwork to our specifications, and clear instructions about what goes where, there are no setup fees. Artwork must be a jpg, tif, png, psd, eps, ai or pdf file. If it is a bitmap, it must be at 150DPI (dots per inch) at the size you want the image printed. If it is a vector graphic, you must tell us the size you want it printed at. All fonts must be converted to paths or you must include the fonts, and/or layers must be flattened. If you have a choice of Color Space in your software, choose RGB NTSC1953.

We can print up to 14 inches wide and up to 19 inches long on a shirt and up to 14 inches wide by 14 inches tall on a canvas shopping bag.

Approval
Tell us if you want any special placement of the image(s) on the shirt or we will use our best judgement.

You will receive an email proof pdf or jpg of your design on a mockup of a shirt for color, size and placement. Reply with your consent or if there are any required changes. Art department services are $40 an hour with a 15 minute minimum. This includes resizing images if necessary, as well as replacing missing fonts.

Legal Stuff
By submitting an image to us, you are accepting responsibility for having a legal right to use the image. We will not print images that are obviously illegal, copyright/trademark infringing, or, at our discretion, hateful or discriminatory.

We reserve the right to display a facsimile of your artwork on a shirt in our portfolio or for advertising unless you explicitly notify us otherwise in writing or via email.

We strive to exceed your expectations and deliver high-quality products. However, should you find a defective piece in your order on our garments, we will reprint that piece at no extra charge. For client-supplied garments, we are allowed a 5% misprint tolerance on all orders.
