Q. What if I purchased the wrong size or just don't like what I bought?
A. - We are confident that you will fall in love with the comfort of bamboo. In fact, if you buy something from us, and you are unhappy with it within the first 30 days, we will exchange your product, and ShirtsOfBamboo.com will pay to reship the correct item or refund your money!

Q. - Where else can I purchase your products?
A. -
You can always visit us at www.ShirtsOfBamboo.com. We ship worldwide! We are also at the Saturday Morning Market in St. Petersburg, Florida from October through May. Sign up for our mailing list and we will notify you of other locations as they become available.

Q. - Can I screen print/tie-dye/etc. on your shirts?
A. -
Yes! Bamboo takes and retains fiber-reactive dyes better than cotton. You can use less ink and get more vibrant colors with excellent sustainability.

Q.- How does your product compare other anti-microbial clothes such as CoolMax® or Under Armour®?

A. - Unlike other anti-microbial fabrics, which require a chemical treatment, bamboo fiber clothing is naturally anti-microbial and requires no harmful chemicals. It contains an agent, 'bamboo kunh', that hinders the growth of bacteria, preventing bacteria from cultivating on it. Bamboo apparel is comfortable, thermal regulating and will keep you cooler in summer, warmer in winter, drier, and odor free.

Q. - I have sensitive skin and allergies. Will bamboo work for me?

A. - Bamboo is hypoallergenic, and if you choose Purely Natural, you'll get Bamboo that is free of dyes, and other chemicals.

Q.- How does bamboo compare to hemp clothing?

A. - Bamboo fiber is softer than the softest cotton, has a natural sheen to the surface and feels similar to silk or cashmere.

Q. - I need shirts for international travel. How quickly do your shirts dry on a hanger?

A.-Your bamboo shirts will dry really fast, and since bamboo repels wrinkles like it does bacteria, it's the perfect fabric for travel. When you arrive at your destination, unpack your bamboo clothing, hang it up, and watch the wrinkles fall out before you can tip the bellman.

Q. - The care tag says to wash in cold water. Can I put it in a warm wash with my socks and underwear? Does your product have to be dry-cleaned?
A. -You can wash ShirtsOfBamboo products just like cotton - cold or warm water and tumble or line dry. We recommend a delicate wash cycle. Take them right out of the dryer or they will wrinkle. The wrinkles generally fall right out, but it's best not to leave them in a wad in the dryer. Our shirts can also be ironed without any worries. Do not use liquid fabric softener (not that our clothing needs it!) or chlorine bleach. Dryer sheets are fine, if you wish.

Q. - Do your shirts shrink?

A. - Our 100% bamboo products do not shrink. Our blends that include cotton do shrink a bit, about 5% in length.

Q. -How do your sizes run (i.e. large or small)?
A. -Some of our customers think our 100% bamboo products run a little bit to the large size so we are trying to adjust our sizing to be more true to size. Our bamboo/organic cotton blend products run closer to regular sizes.

Q. - Are your dyes harmful for the environment?

A. - We use the lowest impact dyes that are available in the U.S. for production. If you'd like to avoid dyes altogether, choose the Purely Natural Bamboo fiber color.

Q. -What about your products that are made in China? What are the working conditions like in the factories ShirtsOfBamboo purchases from?

A.- Our suppliers in China are certified as Socially Accountable using SA8000 Standards. For an overview on Social Accountability utilizing the SA8000 standards, please click here.

Q. - Does bamboo fabric have UV protection?

A. - Bamboo fiber has natural UV protection, and provides sun protection factor (SPF)14, which translates into great news for golfers, boaters, and virtually every outdoor activity enthusiast.

Q. - Do you have a catalog?

A. - We do not print a paper catalog. Please visit us online for our full catalog of products.

Q. - Where is your bamboo grown? Processed into yarn?

A. - For all our products, the bamboo is grown in China where they extract the fiber and spin the yarn. For our products marked 'Made in China,' those products are knitted, dyed, cut, and assembled in China. For our products marked 'Made in USA,' we bring the yarn in from China those products are knitted, dyed, cut, and assembled in the U.S.

Q. - What species of bamboo is being used for your products? Where is it grown and obtained?

A. - Our yarn is produced from the species Phyllostachys pubescens - Moso. Moso bamboo covers about 7.41 million acres in China. The factory for producing the fiber is in Suzhou and the province is Zhejiang. The US factory for knitting the clothing labeled 'Made in USA' is in South Carolina.
